This is set to be Rooney’s year in terms of
personal achievements and milestones. The England and Manchester United captain
surpassed the Arsenal legend’s (Thierry Henry) goal tally mark of 175 goals to
become the greatest goalscorer with a single Premier League club, while he only
trails Bobby Charlton’s Manchester United record with only 8 goals to become
the club’s highest goalscorer ever.
He sure won’t forget today’s feat in a
hurry. What made it more memorable was scoring against arch rival Liverpool and
after almost 11 years goal drought at the terrifying stadium.
He’s been under criticism for quite some
time, and while accepting he has lost some pace and flair, I will in my own opinion,
say he has been a victim of Mr Van Gaal’s so called “philosophy”. But it seems
he’s got his mojo back now and we hope he can continue his recent scoring
streak. Go Wazza!!!
